The story of Open Nexus OS begins with a simple belief: computing should serve people, not platforms. Today, every device is a walled garden. Your phone, your desktop, your car — each trapped in its own ecosystem. We think that’s backwards. Open Nexus is our answer: a secure, open operating system built in Rust, powered by our NEURON microkernel, with a long-term ambition to span device classes. This chapter introduces the vision, the people we’re building it for, and the path from focused first deployments to broader form factors.
